THIS IS SO FUNNY coz I've been away for a week on that holiday and was watching up on the stuff I missed in JaeHo_YWH community and I JUST read that whole "jae is total uke vs yunho total seme" debate in fanficion topic...so I'm feeling all my own thoughts on that too! Great timing, twin! :D I agree...you can't look a few random qualities and find that's enough to pin them down by a certain label. Jae has both fem AND masculine qualities...ditto for Yunho... I think people need to really try and encorporate that mix more! (although fanfiction is fanfiction so I suppose there will always be different interpretationg etc...) I remember when I was writing the flasback before JJ was captured, I was trying to blatantly emphathize JJ's strength with the whole "he held Changmin in his STRONG arms" coz Jaejoong seriously deserves some kudos for all that weightligting and push-up talent, ahahah!! Sometimes I make myself laugh XD.
I can understand your frustration with the 'lesbian pairings' issue that often seems to rear its ugly head. It's funny in a joking way, but when it gets to a more serious level... two supposed 'ukes' cant both be 'ukes' in a pairing, it just doesnt make any sense. And plus, MEN ARE MEN! To use my close friend for example...he's gay and MY GOD he can act girly! BUT..at the same time he still has the whole MASCULINE PRIDE going on... Therefore I find it unreasonable that people only think ONE SIDE exists and nothing else... Sometimes I wonder if they really have thought their fanfic's character through... That being said, if they wanted them to be that feminine for their fic then good for them they can do that...I just know I wouldn't do it in mine because I believe in a more 3D personality..if that makes sense. GAH its late and I'm quickly losing coherencyyyy haha!
i dont see how noone can see the masculine side of Jae. hes strong, stronger that Yunho in some ways. hes such an awesome seme. >.< YES EXACTLY!!! Physically, yes: look at how strong he is with his push-ups and how much tolerance he has for pain with all the piercings and spicy food obsession. Emtionally, yes: I remember in an interview Changmin even said that JJ had the most will to survive! And all that crap he went through trying to be a SM trainee and live independantly. Gosh there are way too many examples. Can't JaeJoong have really strong elements as well as the weak ones, like all human beings? haha an awesome seme...I agree...which is why my fic's JaeJoong was so NAUGHTY at night AHAHHA!!!
